What is a MiniForest?
A forest planted in the Miyawaki Method is designed to create optimal conditions for native plants. Trees and shrubs are planted densely with consideration for plants that already grow well together in Southern California. Forests planted with this methodology are self sufficient after 2-3 years which means they don’t need additional watering. A diverse palette of plants in the mini forest invites a wide variety of birds and pollinators who use it for food and habitat, increasing local biodiversity.
